My name is Rhoan Yossarian Black.
I'm a wolf and jaguar therian. I've known I was a wolf since I was a child, but actually learned there was a word for it around seven years ago. Aside from soul searching, and the self analysis I've done concerning it, I've done a lot of research on wolves over the years concerning behavior, physiology, etc. that convinced me that I am what I am. I've also worked with wolves, volunteering at a wolf rescue center, which gave me an opportunity to experience first hand their own behavior, as well as the particular feel of their energy, collectively as a species.
These days, in terms of my wolf theriotype, I don't really shift. Working with incorporating with it over the years, I'm pretty integrated with that side of myself. I do have small fluctuations, that I wouldn't call shifts because they are so minor, where there is a little more wolf or a little less. All and all, I don't shift very much.
I only awakened to my jaguar side a year or so ago. My experiences with my jaguar side is nearly the opposite of my wolf side; I'm not very integrated, and the shifts are intense. Having been awakened as a therian for quite a while before, I was surprised that I wasn't aware of that side of myself. I experienced a series of sudden, strong shifts that threw me off extremely. They seemed to have come out of the blue so much so that at first I thought they might be cameo shifts. But after the searching I've done regarding this side of myself, with much, much frustrating soul searching, research and analysis, I do believe it is another therioside. I'm still working on learning more about this side of myself, as of course I am with my wolf side; I don't believe there is an 'end' or a time when you've learned everything. I don't think there is a way we can know everything about ourselves, so for me settling with answers I believe now simply isn't good enough. I am sure of this side of myself, as sure as anyone can truly ever be. But personal evolution goes on, and so that requires a willingness to keep questioning ourselves and never quit, so I'm always open and active in discovering deeper truth, the best I know how to.
I'm a Kemetic Polytheist; I work with the gods of the Egyptian pantheon, primarily my patron god Anubis. I've been working with Him about seven years now, since the time I awakened.
I also practice Therioshamanism. The term eloquently coined by the author Lupa, therioshamanism is, in my personal interpretation, an incorporation of my therianthropy into my neoshamanic practices (I say neoshamanic as Shamans were appointed by their communities, and I do not want to be disrespectful).
I'm a skindancer; I dance in animal pelts and work with skin spirits. The animal pelts and parts I work with were from those that died naturally, or are vintage/ recycled parts. I do not use parts of hunted animals, and work with the pelts that I have with great respect. I work with the spirits of the skins as well, in an effort to learn more about them, the species, and often how they may relate to me spiritually, be it similar or dissimilar, to illuminate deeper and possibly some more unexamined truths about myself.
I make human and animal fusion bone necklaces. Yes, I do use human bones, which is perfectly legal, if not somewhat creepy. As well, the bones of the animals I use are legal (in my state, and I don't sell them to others where they are illegal). I use half of each, half human and half animal (though to make it match in size I often have to use several different parts), working with my dremel, and bind them with high strength resin. After they are good and dried, I drill a hole through the top to make it a necklace, and adorn the rest of it with decorations such as feathers and beads. I paint the bones if it's desired, and that's just a little strange tidbit about one of my stranger hobbies.
I'm a writer, mostly poetry and essay, which you've probably figured out by now. I spend a great deal of my time writing, mostly about spirituality or poetry. That is the purpose of this website after all, to house my personal work and to share it with those who wish to read it.
I'm an airsofter (milsim), my friends and I put on camo, go out, and shoot each other for fun. I rock an M4, which is my baby, and a standard glock, which is giving me problems because of it's spring. I also enjoy hiking, particularly at night.
Some other interests include psychology, biology, learning German, and mechanics.
That's all, folks.
